Banks need bail outs because of their fractional reserve nature. This particular point of failure is not common with cryptocurrencies as they are full reserve currencies, and not lent out on a fractional reserve basis. Yes, there are bugs and hackers can attack weaker systems, but I don’t think this issue is large enough to focus on. The better question in my view, is can one peacefully reduce the world’s dependency on a U.S. dollar system. If I were to pick a reason to be bearish on blockchain this would be the primary concern.
